Extract from the «Tyre repair Guide» printed by "Les professionnels du pneu"
“Tyre repairs with patches and vulcanization in conformity with all repair process standards and control standards are
marked with an indelible marking.
1) A mark inside clearly identifying the repairer will be affixed to the repair itself.
This marking will include the first six numbers of the repairer's RC (starting form the left) or name.
2) On the outside, a hot stamping will show “REP” on the fitting line vertical to the repair.
As of 1st January 2009, no more hot vulcanizing repairs on tyre sidewalls can be made without the “REP” marking.
Application for cars equipped with repaired tyres according to professional practice code: as of 1 January 2012, all tyres repaired on sidewall
and according to professional practice code must be stamped with “REP” marking.
